TripExplorer ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data, particularly the personalized travel information you provide to enhance your experience.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a personalized travel experience, we collect the following categories of information:

• Account & Profile Information: When you create an account via email (Resend OTP) or Social Sign-in (Apple/Google), we store your email and name. You may also voluntarily provide citizenship and current visa status to help us filter relevant travel destinations and requirements.
• App Activity & Favorites: We save your search history and favorited destinations/flights to your profile so you can access them across devices.
• Preferences: We store your preferred language, currency, and temperature units to localize the app experience.
• Device Data: Technical information (IP address, device model) is collected via Supabase to ensure security and app functionality.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to:

• Filter flight, hotel, and visa information based on your citizenship and available visas.
• Synchronize your favorites and history across your devices.
• Maintain your account security and authenticate your identity.
• Localize the app interface to your preferred settings.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Data Processors

We share data only with the following essential service providers:

• Supabase: Our primary database and authentication provider. Your profile, history, and favorites are securely stored here.
• Resend: Used to send One-Time Passwords (OTP) to your email for secure login.
• Apple & Google: Used for secure "Social Sign-In" authentication.

4. Data Deletion & The "Right to be Forgotten"

In compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v) and Google Play policies, we provide a straightforward way to delete your data:

• In-App Deletion: You can initiate full account deletion directly within the Profile section of the app.
• Effect of Deletion: Upon clicking "Delete Account," we will purge your email, citizenship data, visa info, history, and favorites from our active Supabase database.
• Requesting via Email: You may also request data deletion by emailing us at support@tripexplorer.app.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account (via the app or by contacting us), all associated data is permanently removed from our systems. We do not retain personal data after account deletion, except where required by law.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. Your information is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring that each user can only access their own data. Session data is cached locally on your device using encrypted storage. All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS.

7. Local Storage

The app stores a minimal amount of data on your device, including your authentication session token and user preferences (language, currency, temperature units). This data is stored using encrypted local storage and is never shared with third parties. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app.

8. Children's Privacy

TripExplorer is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Global Compliance (GDPR & CCPA)

We provide the same high standard of privacy rights to all users worldwide:

• Access & Portability: You can request a copy of the data we have stored for you.
• Correction: You can update your profile data (visas, citizenship) at any time in the app.
• Third-Party Redirection: When you leave TripExplorer to book via a third party (airline, hotel, visa service), their privacy policy applies. We do not share your TripExplorer profile data with these third parties.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. We recommend reviewing this page periodically for changes.
